SuCri Module – Understanding Key Terminology

In order to integrate SuCri efficiently into your workflow, a sound understanding of the core technical terms and concepts is essential. This article provides an overview of the most important definitions of component groups, the technical basics of software integration, and the significance of automated output formats.

Central Terms and Definitions

The following terms form the basis for professional work with the software:

  • Primary Steelwork: This category includes main load-bearing structures such as columns, beams, or frames, which form the structural basis of your plant.
  • Secondary Steelwork: These are supplementary components such as railings, stairs, or brackets, which functionally extend and secure the primary steelwork.
  • Typicals: These are predefined and reusable constructions (e.g., supports, rests) that you can place automatically in your project.
  • Bundle Interface: This refers to the official Autodesk plugin interface. It ensures that SuCri is seamlessly integrated into Plant 3D and Advance Steel and remains automatically available even after software updates.
  • Automation Engine: This is the heart of SuCri. Intelligent algorithms analyze your inputs and automatically generate steel components as well as the associated documentation.
  • Bill of Materials (BOM): An automatically generated overview of all components including quantities, positions, and markings for manufacturing and assembly.
  • Manufacturing Documentation: This includes all plans and drawings derived from SuCri that you can use directly for production.
  • Plant 3D: The specialized Autodesk application for process plant design, into which SuCri is directly integrated as an add-on.
  • Advance Steel: The Autodesk application for detailed steel construction, which, in combination with SuCri, enables a continuous process chain from initial planning to final manufacturing.
