4.6 Excel Report: Documenting and Evaluating Results
After your data has been successfully processed by the software, a detailed Excel report is automatically created and opened immediately. This file serves as comprehensive documentation of all changes made and is archived for later reference in your local Documents folder under the standardized filename BoltReport_YYYYMMDD_HHMMSS.xlsx.
The document includes the Bolt Report worksheet, which provides a structured overview of all processed fasteners. In the following sections, you will learn how to interpret the data in the report.
Structure of the Excel Report
The table in the worksheet provides a detailed breakdown of every single operation. The following overview explains the columns included in the report and their significance for your evaluation:
| Column | Description |
|---|---|
Nr |
Sequential row number for better orientation within the report. |
Handle |
The unique AutoCAD handle of the respective bolt connector object for identification within the drawing. |
Position |
Indicates the X, Y, and Z coordinates of the fastener (rounded to whole numbers for clarity). |
Bolt Size |
The specific designation of the bolt size (for example, M16). |
Original Value |
Documents the original property values before the update. Here, PartSizeLongDesc, PartFamilyLongDesc, Length, and NumberInSet are listed if modifications were made. |
Updated Value |
Shows the new property values that were stored in the system after the successful update. |
Status |
A color-coded field for quick visual inspection:
|
Fail Reason |
Detailed explanation of the cause if the update was skipped or failed. |
Drawing Name |
Indicates the name of the source drawing containing the processed bolt set. |
Using the Results
The report allows you to quickly validate bulk changes. Especially in large projects with numerous connections, the Status filter in Excel helps to immediately identify problematic components (marked in red) and initiate the corrective measures specified in the Fail Reason field.
