4.2 Drawing selection
SuCri – Configuration of drawing selection and calculation options
When you execute the Update or Exact Update functions in the SuCri software, a central drawing selection dialog box opens. In this area, you define which components of your project are to be processed and which data sources are to be used for the calculation.
Step 1: Selecting the processing mode
First, you determine the scope of the data to be updated. Two different modes are available in the system for structured processing:
- Select current drawing: In this mode, only the drawing currently open and active in the editor is processed. This is particularly suitable for quick corrections to a single component.
- Make project-wide selection: This mode shows you the entire Plant 3D project structure. Using checkboxes, you can specifically select individual folders or drawings. Use the buttons in the toolbar to quickly perform a bulk selection ("Select all" / "Deselect all").
- Confirm process: Click
OKto start processing the selected data, orCancelto end the process without making any changes.
Step 2: Configuration of calculation options
Within the same dialog window, you can specify the behavior of the calculation through additional settings to adapt the process to your project requirements.
Efficient working through Silent Mode
The Silent Mode is an optimization function for efficient working. If you activate this option, the selected drawings are not visibly opened in the editor for the calculation process.
The system writes the calculated values directly into the Plant 3D project database in the background. Especially for extensive projects with a large number of drawings, this leads to significant time savings and conserves system resources.
Defining the bolt data source
Via the Bolt data source option, you define where the system obtains the required flange thicknesses for the calculation. You can choose between two methods:
- From the model: The flange thicknesses are read directly from the stored properties of the components in the 3D model. Use this option if the flange thicknesses are already fully maintained in your component models.
- From external data: Here, the flange thicknesses are imported from an external data source. This setting is ideal if the corresponding information is missing in the 3D model or should not be maintained there.
