3. Overview of the Ribbon
PiCri Module – Ribbon Overview
When starting the application, PiCri automatically integrates its own PiCri tab into the AutoCAD ribbon. This central control unit provides quick access to all relevant functions for pipeline construction and efficient data management within your CAD environment.
The ribbon is divided into various logical panels that support the workflow from initial design to final numbering. Each panel groups specific tools to ensure intuitive operation.
| Panel | Buttons / Commands | Functional Description |
|---|---|---|
| Bolt Length | Update, Update precisely, Load data |
Used for the precise calculation of required bolt lengths based on flange connections and for importing relevant project data from external sources. |
| Numbering | Mode selection (Weld / Spool / Part), Numbering, Show, Remove |
Contains central functions for the systematic numbering and automated labeling of pipelines, welds, and spools. |
| Automatic Routing | Automatic routing, Convert, Mirror, Place elements, Place supports, Load data |
Supports the automated routing of components as well as the efficient placement of complex parts and fasteners in the 3D model. |
| Clip Box | Prepare, Cut out |
Provides tools for creating and editing spatial sections to improve clarity in complex 3D models. |
| Tools | Rebuild, Correct weight |
Provides useful utility functions for technical validation, such as repairing pipe connections and correcting weight values. |
| Settings | Settings icon |
Enables direct access to general application configuration and specific module parameters for individual project requirements. |
| Licenses | "Licenses" icon |
Used to manage active licenses and query the current registration status of the software. |
The following chapters of this documentation describe the specific workflows within the individual panels in detail to ensure optimal use of the PiCri functions.
