3.6. Module 5: Advanced System Settings and Administration
In this module, you will learn about the specific configurations and advanced management options for Module 5. These settings are crucial for optimizing your workflows and ensuring correct data processing within the overall system.
Prerequisites
- Successful login to the system with administrator rights.
- Completion of modules 1 to 4.
- Basic understanding of the master data configured so far.
Step-by-Step Instructions

Open the main menu and select the menu item Module 5.
Result: The dashboard overview for Module 5 is loaded.

Click on the Configuration button in the top navigation bar.
Result: The system settings mask opens.
- In the System ID field, enter the corresponding technical value for your department.

Confirm your entries by clicking the Save button.
Result: The settings are applied and a success message appears in the top right corner of the screen.
Important Notes
- Data Backup: Perform a manual data backup before making extensive changes in Module 5.
- The changes affect all linked submodules immediately.
- Use only absolute paths in the Path specification field, e.g.,
/opt/odoo/custom_addons/module5.
Troubleshooting
- Missing Permissions: If menu items are grayed out, check your user groups in the settings.
- Save Error: Validate whether all mandatory fields (marked with an asterisk) have been filled in correctly.
