4.1.3. Sliding plates and insert strips
Sliding Plates and Inlay Strips
The Sliding Plates and Inlay Strips function allows you to easily adjust inlays and sliding plates for supports. This ensures that matching elements are correctly assigned to guarantee smooth functioning in the pipe and support construction.
Prerequisites
- The desired support must already be placed in the model.
- A current Index-Sheet for inlay parameters must be available.
- You need the authorization to edit the Inlay parameter.
Step-by-Step Instructions
- In the model, click on the desired support to which you want to assign an inlay strip or a sliding plate.
- Open the Properties of the selected support via the context menu (right-click).
- Locate the Inlay parameter and enter the desired inlay index according to the Index-Sheet.
- The system automatically adds the inlays or sliding plates based on your input.
- Finally, check whether the inlay or sliding plate is displayed correctly and corresponds to the parameters of the support (e.g., material, dimension, function).
Expected Result: The support is now correctly configured with the required sliding or inlay elements.
Important Notes
- Accuracy: Ensure that the Index-Sheet used is up to date and matches the catalog data exactly.
- Functionality: A correctly selected inlay is crucial for sliding movements, tolerance compensation, and the service life of the construction.
- Special Cases: Document deviations, especially for special materials or customer-specific inlays.
- Benefits: Using this function leads to high planning reliability and time savings through automated parameter assignments.
Troubleshooting
- The inlay/sliding plate is not added correctly: Check whether the entered Inlay Index matches the Index-Sheet. Ensure that the Inlay parameter is not locked. Update the system catalog if necessary.
- Deactivating the function: Deactivation is not recommended as it affects quality assurance. Should this be necessary due to project requirements, document this step explicitly.
