4.1.6. Changing Support Heights and Support Types
It often happens that conditions change during the planning process and you as a planner must react to them. In this article, you will learn how to swap already placed primary supports by a simple index change without having to perform time-consuming repositioning.
Step-by-Step Instructions
- Select the desired support in your model that you wish to edit.
- Open the Properties window for the component.
- Go to the Component Parameters menu within the properties.
- Find the field SupportHeight (for the support height) or SupportType (for the support type).
- Adjust the corresponding value according to the specifications on your IndexSheet.
Expected Result: By changing the SupportHeight or SupportType property, the support automatically adjusts within the model. All associated labels and technical properties are consistently updated by the system.
Important Notes
- Compliance with Specifications: Only use predefined values from your project-specific IndexSheet for the change to ensure data integrity.
- Collision Check: Briefly check the orientation and dimensions of the support in the model after the swap to ensure that the new geometry does not cause any collisions with other trades.
- Automation: Use this method primarily for index changes, as it is significantly more efficient than deleting and manually repositioning support components.
