Core Features

Why PiCri ?

PiCri bundles six functional areas in one AutoCAD® Plant 3D™ add-in. Each function targets concrete routine tasks from daily piping design.

Bolt length calculation

Configurable rules via JSON or Excel template. PiCri accounts for gaskets, stub-ends as well as Wafer and LUG connections, rounds to valid standard lengths and produces an Excel report with per-bolt-set status.

Persistent numbering

Weld, spool and part numbers are stored directly on the Plant 3D™ properties. They therefore appear consistently in every isometric, bill of material and weld list.

AutoRouting

Automatic routing of cable trays and custom Python components. Supports are placed at regular intervals; inline elements can be flipped and converted.

Clip-Box

A defined 3D bounding box hides geometry outside its volume. Improves display performance in large models and also captures external references, ideal for isolating individual plant areas.

Repair tools

Rebuild Connection for StubEnd and gasket connections, Weight Fixer using catalog data, Repair Component Link after Spec Editor changes that produced new record IDs and Pipe Length Export including optional center lines.

License management

Cloud-based floating licenses with customer key. Pull and Push activate or release seats on individual machines. Single license mode for activations without a customer account.

All About PiCri

PiCri is a professional productivity add-in for AutoCAD Plant 3D™ designed to streamline piping design workflows. It automates bolt length calculations, pipeline numbering, auto-routing, and 3D model clipping.

PiCri supports AutoCAD Plant 3D™ versions 2024 through 2027.

PiCri automates bolt length calculation with configurable JSON or Excel rules; gaskets, stub-ends as well as Wafer and LUG connections are handled correctly. It also assigns weld, spool and part numbers along a pipeline, runs auto-routing for cable trays and custom components, provides a clip-box for 3D sections and offers repair tools for connections, weights and component links. Excel reports document each run with per-bolt-set status.

Yes, IntegaDesign offers a free 15-day trial license.

PiCri uses cloud-based floating licenses managed centrally and activatable from any workstation, whether in the office, at home or on customer site.

Yes. Every package includes full e-mail support and all updates for 12 months.

Yes. PiCri reads its bolt rules from a JSON file with the sections Formula, Nut, Washer, AdditionalLength, RoundLength and ExternalData. Maintenance happens either directly in the JSON file or conveniently in an Excel template that PiCri converts to the JSON configuration via the Load Data command. Project-specific multipliers, nut sizes, washer thicknesses and valid standard lengths can all be maintained this way.

Yes. Existing SuCri® customers receive additional conditions during the PiCri roll-out; both add-ins work in parallel in the same Plant 3D™ project.

Plant designers and CAD administrators in plant engineering, pharma, chemicals, process and water industries who model piping in AutoCAD Plant 3D™ and want to automate routine tasks such as bolt lengths, numbering and auto-routing.

Bolt length calculation, weld and spool numbering or routing adjustments are time-consuming and error-prone when done manually. PiCri handles these tasks automatically based on configurable rules and produces consistent results across the entire model.

PiCri bundles six functional areas: bolt length calculation with JSON or Excel rule sets including Wafer/LUG, gaskets and stub-end; automatic weld, spool and part numbering persisted on Plant 3D™ properties; auto-routing for cable trays and custom Python components plus support placement; a clip-box for performance-friendly isolation of model regions; repair tools (rebuild connection, weight fix, repair component link, pipe length export, 3D view on isometric); and a license manager for customer key or single-license activations.

Experienced Plant 3D™ users are productive within 1-2 hours. For teams we recommend a short online introduction of around 90 minutes. IntegaDesign also offers product-specific trainings.

Licenses are managed centrally in the cloud. In the License Manager users enter their secret customer key and pull available licenses onto the current machine; push releases them again. Multiple users share licenses flexibly across office, home office and customer site. For single-seat activations without a customer account, a single license mode is also available.

Yes. The Nut, Washer, AdditionalLength and RoundLength tables can be extended with any additional bolt sizes, standards and lengths. Through ExternalData you can store flange thicknesses and component lengths for parts where the properties are not maintained directly on the model. PiCri thereby covers project-specific requirements such as a different overhang, your own manufacturers or third-party size tables.

Yes. Both add-ins access the same Plant 3D™ data set and complement each other, SuCri® for support and steel structure planning, PiCri for piping automation. Existing customers receive special conditions when combining both.

Calculation and numbering results are written by PiCri directly into Plant 3D™ properties (PartSizeLongDesc, PartFamilyLongDesc, Length, NumberInSet, spool and weld numbers). They therefore appear consistently in isometrics, bills of material and weld lists. PiCri additionally generates timestamped Excel reports (bolt list with handle, position and status; pipe length list with outer diameter, wall thickness, surface and volume) and can place a 3D wireframe view into a prepared area on each isometric.

For a user with regular Plant 3D™ usage, payback typically falls below six months. The PiCri page contains an interactive ROI calculator for an individual calculation.

All version updates are included during the license term, together with e-mail support with response within one business day. Premium support by phone or with SLA is optionally bookable.

Yes. PiCri stores weld, spool and part numbers as properties on the Plant 3D™ object itself. Once assigned, a number appears in exactly the same place in every isometric, weld list and bill of material. Individual numbers can still be corrected at any time and the changes propagate to all derived documents.

PiCri includes three repair workflows. Rebuild Connection cleanly recreates broken StubEnd and gasket connections from the model, useful when isometrics misrepresent components. Weight Fixer recalculates part weights based on the linear catalog value and actual length. Repair Component Link restores the link between 3D parts and the Plant 3D™ database, for instance after Spec Editor changes that produced a new record ID.

Yes. In the Excel configuration of the bolt calculation, the Formula tab lets you set the NUT multiplier to 2 and ADDITIONAL to 2 to model a stud with two nuts and two overhangs instead of a hex bolt. The description templates are adjusted in the same step (e.g. Stud &&& x @@@ with 2 hex nuts and 2 washers), and the length calculation automatically accounts for the additional nut and the second overhang.
