Profiles are shortened after import from Plant3D

Optimize the export of profiles between Plant 3D and Advance Steel to avoid length and connection errors. In this guide, you will learn how to best design cuts and geometries to ensure correct transfer.

Prerequisites

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. In Plant 3D, first place the required profiles (e.g., rectangular tubes or beams) in their full length.
  2. Strictly avoid using the profile cutting function (such as 45° miters or manual shortenings) in Plant 3D.
  3. Export the model from Plant 3D and import it into Advance Steel.
  4. Perform all cuts, miters, or profile shortenings directly in Advance Steel only after the import.

Expected Result: The profiles maintain their correct length and axis direction, as Advance Steel now fully parameterizes the geometry and processes it without errors.
