Visualization and Analysis in SuCri Module 4
The visualization and analysis functions allow you to efficiently inspect complex models, precisely calculate geometric data, and optimize component placement using graphical aids. This is particularly important for quality assurance and spatial coordination within your projects.
Prerequisites
To use the analysis tools, the corresponding components must be loaded and selected in the model.
Step-by-Step Instructions

Create Bounding Box
Create a bounding box around your selected objects. This serves to improve clarity in complex geometries and helps with the initial assessment of space requirements.
Result: A transparent cuboid encloses the outer dimensions of the selected objects. -
Perform Component Volume Calculation
Use the integrated volume calculation to determine exact values for your components. This uses P3D-specific algorithms that also correctly account for complex penetrations.
Result: The calculated volume value is output in the object properties or a dialog window. -
Check Object Properties
Select a component to display detailed object-specific properties. Here you will find technical parameters and metadata relevant for further planning.
Result: A detailed list of all stored information about the component is displayed. -
Activate Snappoints
Activate all available snap points for P3D components. This ensures millimeter-precise alignment and placement in three-dimensional space.
Result: Tangible snap points become visible at the logical positions of the hardware components. -
Visualize Connection Points
Have the connection points of components displayed graphically to immediately identify logical links and interfaces between parts.
Result: Graphical markers show at which points components can interact or be connected with each other.
Important Notes
- Accuracy: The Component Volume Calculation is based on the geometric definitions of the P3D parts. Ensure that the parts are defined correctly to obtain precise results.
- Performance: The simultaneous visualization of all Snappoints in very large models can affect system performance. Activate these specifically for the areas currently being edited.
- Best Practice: Use the Bounding Box to quickly identify collisions in the rough design before proceeding to detailed analysis.
