SuCri Module 5 – Additional Tools and Utility Functions

In this article, you will get an overview of the additional tools in SuCri Module 5, which optimize your workflow through automation, precise alignment, and efficient data management. These utility functions support you in your daily work with drawing elements and system configurations.

Prerequisites

To use these tools, the following conditions must be met:

• Module 5 is successfully installed and licensed in your CAD environment.
• An active drawing is open to apply object-related functions (such as alignment or scaling).

Step-by-Step Instructions: Using the Tools

The additional tools can be found collected in the tool palette or the corresponding ribbon of the module. Proceed as follows:

1. Step 1: Use data conversion
   Use the Excel-JSON conversion to seamlessly exchange configuration data between Excel spreadsheets and the JSON format. This is particularly useful for bulk editing of component data.
   Expected result: The file is saved in the target format in the selected directory.
2. Step 2: Position and align components
   Use the Component Grip Positions for graphical display and manual adjustment of object points. With the Alignment Tools, you can precisely position surfaces relative to each other.
3. Step 3: Adjust visualization
   Activate the Show Stretch Points function to obtain an alternative visualization of the grip positions, which facilitates the editing of complex geometries.
4. Step 4: Copy parameters to the clipboard
   Select a component and use Clipboard Copy. This copies all creation parameters (e.g., L=300;L1=42;OD=19) directly to your clipboard for reuse elsewhere or for documentation purposes.
5. Step 5: Manage and scale blocks
   The Block Management supports you when working with external references by automatically opening the associated DWG. With Scale Blocks, you can quickly bring selected blocks to a predefined scale.

• Efficiency: The integrated Purge command is an optimized version of the standard purge command. It works significantly faster and removes unused definitions from your drawing more efficiently.
• Special Functions: The Steelwork Test tool is used for the automated placement of pipes over a test steel structure at fixed intervals.
• Licensing: You can view your current status and manage licenses for the various modules at any time via the License Manager.

Troubleshooting

• Grip points are not displayed: Ensure that the object is correctly selected and the Show Stretch Points function has been activated.
• Excel import fails: Check whether the structure of the Excel table corresponds to the required schema for JSON conversion.
