10.1. Optimization tips, Best practices for SuCri

So that you can work efficiently and reliably with SuCri in the long term, we have compiled proven procedures and strategies for you. These tips help you increase the performance of your projects and optimize collaboration within the team.

Project organization

• Split projects modularly: Split large plants into clear sub-areas and work with XRefs (external references) to ensure performance and clarity.
• Use naming conventions: Use consistent names for pipe classes, assemblies and drawings in order to facilitate teamwork and minimize search times.

Content & paths

• Keep content local: Ideally store pipe classes, templates and libraries on a fast SSD instead of slow network drives in order to shorten loading times.
• Path check: After each software update, check whether the content paths in the settings are still set correctly.

Optimize performance

• Regular cleanup: Regularly run the commands PURGE and PLANTAUDIT in your drawings. Also use the LokalCacheDataPurger to remove data remnants.
• Dynamic properties: Use dynamic properties selectively and only activate them when they are really needed, since they require additional computing power.
• Pre-configuration: Configure your ortho templates in advance to avoid unnecessary calculations when updating drawings.

License management

• Control license usage: Use the pull/push function deliberately. Pull licenses only for active work with SuCri and release them again afterwards.
• Status check: Keep an eye on the expiry date and the license status in order to avoid work interruptions.

Documentation & output

• Targeted evaluation: Generate bills of materials (BOMs) by assembly instead of for the entire project. This saves time during generation and increases the clarity of the documents.
• Individual templates: Adapt your own ortho and BOM templates in order to obtain consistent documents in your corporate design.

Important notes on error avoidance

• Use support: In case of technical uncertainties, you should involve support early. For this, use the command SuCriSendSupportRequest to send a direct request to the helpdesk.
