SuCri Module 3 loads its components exclusively from the Resources\VendorCatalogues folder in the installation folder (bundle folder) SuCri_Module3.bundle. There is no additional, freely selectable component path. This article explains how to manage your own block components so that they are not lost during software updates or reinstallations.

Prerequisites

  • SuCri Module 3 is installed.
  • Access rights to the installation folder as well as to a local directory or network drive for the backup.

Step-by-step guide

  1. Create a backup folder outside the bundle folder: Create a folder for your own components that is not located in the Module 3 installation folder (e.g. D:\Plant3D\CustomParts\). This folder serves as a backup; SuCri does not read from it.
  2. Maintain the components in the backup folder: Keep the originals of your own block components there, in the same folder structure as under Resources\VendorCatalogues\<Hersteller>.
  3. Copy the components to the bundle folder: Copy the components to the matching manufacturer folder under Resources\VendorCatalogues\<Hersteller> so that SuCri can find them.
  4. Reload the data: Run the command SuCri3ReloadData ("Reload Vendor Data"). If block definitions have changed in an existing drawing, update them with SuCri3BatchUpdateBlocks ("Update blocks").

Result: SuCri uses your components, and a complete copy is stored safely outside the installation folder.

Important notes

  • Update safety: The bundle folder is overwritten during updates. After every update, copy your own components from the backup folder back into Resources\VendorCatalogues.
  • Project access: Make sure that everyone involved in the project has access to the backup folder and equips their own installations in the same way.
  • Best practice: Use unique subfolders per project in the backup folder to keep track.

Troubleshooting

  • Your own components are missing after an update: Copy them from the backup folder back into Resources\VendorCatalogues\<Hersteller> and run SuCri3ReloadData.
  • Components are not found: SuCri does not read a storage location outside the bundle folder. Check whether the files are in the correct manufacturer folder.
