4.3.10.4. Align connector, Open connection dialog (SuCri3ShowSelectConnection)

    Overview

You control the orientation of a connector via the location of your mouse click when selecting the main profile. There is no separate setting for this: If you click the main profile on the left, the leg of the connector is aligned to the left; if you click on the right, it is aligned to the right.

Where can I find the function?

Part of the connection creation in the connection dialog (SuCri tab, Module 3 group, Connections button, or command SuCri3ShowSelectConnection).

    Step by step

    1. Start the connection dialog and select the connection type, for example Collision (T).
    2. Click the main profile on the side towards which the leg of the connector should point.
    3. Select the profile to be connected.
    4. Select the connector from the list. The leg points towards the clicked side.
    5. If it should point towards the other side, create the connection again and click the main profile on the other side.

    Video: Align connector in practice

    How it works in detail

The video shows this using the T connection: If the main profile is clicked on the left in the image and the second profile is selected afterwards, the leg is aligned to the left. The same process with a click on the right aligns it to the right. The selection of the connector is not affected by this; only its position changes.

    Tips and best practices

    • Think before you click: The side is decided when you click the main profile.
    • Consider the assembly direction: Choose the side so that the connector is easily accessible later.

    Troubleshooting

    • Connector points to the wrong side: Delete the connection via the connection box (SuCri Connection > Delete) and create it again with a click on the desired side.
