7.3.4. Output of the threaded rod lengths (Setting MTOForBG)

    In this article you will learn how to control the display of assemblies and threaded rods in the material take-off (MTO). This way you get either compact bills of materials or detailed listings including the cut lengths of the threaded rods.

    Prerequisites

    • SuCri Module 2 is installed in AutoCAD Plant 3D.
    • The function applies to assemblies that are stored in the file BG_single_item.json in the folder of the respective manufacturer. For other supports, the setting changes nothing.

    Step-by-step instructions

    1. Open the "Settings" window with the command SuCriSettings and switch to the Module 2 tab, MTO export group.
    2. Under Assembly groups in MTO, select one of the following options:
      • Completed item (0): The item is treated as a finished component. Threaded rods do not appear separately in the MTO.
      • Completed item with additional rod thread (1, default): In addition to the item, the threaded rod is output separately with its cut length in the MTO.
      • Single parts (2): The item is broken down into the individual parts stored in the assembly file. Here, too, the threaded rod is output with its cut length.
    3. Regenerate the MTO with SuCri2GetReport.

      Expected result: The MTO shows the assemblies in the selected form.

    Important notes

    • Compact bill of materials: For simple and clear bills of materials, select "Completed item".
    • Length determination: If you need the lengths of the threaded rods for procurement, select "Completed item with additional rod thread" (delivery state) or "Single parts". The cut length is rounded to one decimal place.
    • Maximum level of detail: Only use "Single parts" if a complete listing of all individual parts of a support is required.

    Troubleshooting

    • Threaded rods are missing despite the setting: Check whether the assembly is stored in the manufacturer's BG_single_item.json file. Only these assemblies are split up or supplemented with the threaded rod.
    • MTO does not change: After changing the setting, regenerate the MTO with SuCri2GetReport.
