Output of the threaded rod lengths (Setting MTOForBG)

In this article you will learn how to control the representation of assemblies and threaded rods in the bill of materials (MTO). This is important in order to obtain either compact bills of materials or detailed listings including exact length specifications for threaded rods.

    Prerequisites

    • The SuCri Module 2 is correctly installed and configured in AutoCAD Plant 3D.
    • You have the necessary permissions to adjust settings in the program options.

    Step-by-step guide

    1. Open the settings of Module 2 and look for the field MTOForBG.

Expected result: You see the input field for controlling the assembly output.

    2. Enter the desired numeric value (0, 1 or 2) in the field to define the behavior of the MTO:
      • 0, Complete component (default): The item is treated as a finished component. Threaded rods do not appear separately in the MTO.
      • 1, Complete component with additional threaded rod: The item is output as a finished component. In addition, the threaded rod is displayed separately with its length in the MTO.
      • 2, Individual parts: The item is fully broken down into its individual parts. All components (e.g. bracket, clamp, threaded rod) appear individually in the report.

Expected result: The system applies the selected logic for the next report generation.

    Important notes

    • Default recommendation: For simple and clear bills of materials, you should keep the value 0.
    • Length determination: If you need the exact lengths of the threaded rods for procurement, choose the value 1.
    • Maximum level of detail: Only use the value 2 when a complete listing of all small parts of a support is required.

    Troubleshooting

    • Threaded rods missing despite the setting: Check whether the threaded rods within the assembly are correctly classified as such, so that the SuCri module recognizes them.
    • MTO does not change: Make sure you regenerate the report after changing the value MTOForBG and do not access old cache data.
