Setting view headings to German

In this article, you will learn how to change the display of view titles in Module 4 drawings from English to German or another language. This ensures a professional and consistent presentation of your documentation according to local standards.

Prerequisites

  • Module 4 for drawings is installed and configured.
  • You have access to the Modul 4 Settings.

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Open the Modul 4 Settings in your application.
  2. Set the desired default language in the DrawingLanguage field (e.g., DEU for German).
  3. Then switch to the MapLanguage tab.
  4. In the table that appears, map the standard English terms to the desired German designations.
    • Example: Top ViewDraufsicht
    • Example: Front ViewVorderansicht
    • Example: Right Side ViewRechte Ansicht
  5. Save the configuration and reload the settings in SuCri.
  6. Execute the SuCri command to update the drawing.

Result: The drawing is regenerated, and all view headings appear in the language you defined.

Important Notes

  • Reload required: After every change in the MapLanguage tab, the settings must be reloaded before updating the drawing.
  • Existing drawings: Existing drawings do not adjust automatically. You must manually update or regenerate them.
  • Individual customization: You can also define company-specific designations via the MapLanguage mechanism to ensure uniform terminology.

Troubleshooting

  • Headings remain in English: Check whether the correct language key is stored under DrawingLanguage and whether the mapping in the MapLanguage tab exactly matches the English source term.
