6.3. Example scenarios, Workflows with SuCri
On this page
To make the possibilities of SuCri even more tangible, here you will find typical use cases from the everyday work of engineers and designers. These scenarios illustrate how you can use SuCri to complete tasks faster, more consistently and with fewer errors.
Scenario 1: Planning a new pipe with supports
- Initial situation: A new pipe must be integrated into an existing plant model.
- Procedure with SuCri:
Open the project and activate the SuCri pipe classes.
Place the pipe in the model.
Use the automated placement functions to insert the appropriate supports.
Use the validation to check whether all connections are correct.
- Benefit: Time savings, since no manual selection of the support combinations is necessary.
Scenario 2: Implementing changes in existing installations
- Initial situation: In an existing plant a support is to be reinforced and additional secondary components added.
- Procedure with SuCri:
Use the dynamic properties (Module 2) to adapt the existing support.
Automatically place secondary steelwork components such as brackets or cantilevers.
Update the bill of materials to make changes visible for fabrication and assembly.
- Benefit: Changes are implemented directly in the model and automatically reflected in the documents.
Scenario 3: Steel construction planning with Advance Steel
- Initial situation: A new plant section is to be executed in Advance Steel as a detailed steel construction.
- Procedure with SuCri:
Install Module 3 and run the SuCri patcher.
Insert profiles and connections in Advance Steel.
Carry out validation and tests using the provided demo videos.
- Benefit: Seamless collaboration between Plant 3D and Advance Steel, without manual re-modelling.
Scenario 4: Generating fabrication documents for assemblies
- Initial situation: A project is to be moved into the fabrication phase, all documents must be ready.
- Procedure with SuCri:
Open Module 4 and set up ortho templates.
Assign assembly numbers.
Automatically generate drawings and bills of materials.
- Benefit: Consistent, error-free documents that can be used directly for fabrication and assembly.
