4.1.4. Dynamic height adjustment
On this page
The "Dynamic height adjustment" function allows you to quickly and precisely adjust the height of a support directly in the model. It is used to flexibly adapt supports or bearings to the actual conditions without having to place them again, which considerably increases planning efficiency.
Prerequisites
- A support that is designed for height adjustment must be placed in the model.
- The permissible height range for the component must be stored in the master data.
Step-by-step guide
- Select support: In the model, select the support whose height you want to adjust.
- Activate ortho mode: Press the F8 key to activate ortho mode. This ensures an exact vertical movement.
- Perform height adjustment: Click the small blue arrow on the support (this marks the lowest point) and move the mouse in the desired vertical direction.
-
Complete the adjustment:
The height is finally adjusted according to your mouse movement.
Result: The support is now positioned at the new height, provided this lies within the permissible range.
Important notes
- Height range: The function works exclusively within the height range of the respective support defined in the system.
- Precision: Make sure to consistently stay in ortho mode during the process.
- Quality control: After the adjustment, check assemblies with multiple supports for consistency and possible collisions.
- Benefits: By avoiding re-placements, you save time and ensure exact, immediately effective quality assurance in the 3D model.
Troubleshooting
- The height cannot be changed: Check whether the support type is generally designed for height adjustment and whether ortho mode (F8) is really active. Also check the stored limit values for the height range.
- Deactivating the function: Deactivating the function is not recommended, as it serves the safe adjustment within defined limits.
