4.5.6. Detach all Xrefs (SuCri4DetachAllXref)

    Overview

Detach all Xrefs removes all reference parts from an assembly in one step. When attaching with reference, the parts are clicked individually; when detaching, this command does it all at once. The parts of the active drawing remain part of the assembly.

Where can I find the function?

    Command line: SuCri4DetachAllXref.

If the Module 4 window is pinned to the tool palette, the function is located on the Module 4 tab of the SuCri tool palette in the collapsed Xrefs group, Detach All Xrefs button.

    How it works in detail

    1. Select support: The command line prompts "Select Support:". Click a part of the assembly in the active drawing. SuCri then selects all parts of this assembly.

    2. Detach references: SuCri removes the stored reference parts from all parts of the assembly. The SU number of the parts in the active drawing is retained.

    3. Orthocube: If the affected assembly already has an orthocube, SuCri asks in the Recreate Ortho Cube window whether it should be recreated ("… already has an ortho cube. Do you want to recreate it?"). The default is No. With Yes, SuCri deletes the existing cube and recreates it to match the new scope of the assembly.

Afterwards you can add individual reference parts again in a targeted way with SuCri4AttachSupportWithRef.

    Application examples

    Example 1: Reassembling an assembly

Too many parts from the reference were included when attaching. Instead of correcting them individually, you detach all of them and then attach the correct ones.

    Example 2: Limiting the derivation

The drawing should only show the supports, not the steel structure of the reference. After detaching and recreating the orthocube, exactly that is derived.

    Tips and best practices

    • Recreate the orthocube: Confirm the prompt with Yes, otherwise the derivation area no longer matches the content.
    • Cross-check: SuCri4ShowOrthoCube shows which area is now derived.
    • Targeted instead of everything: If only individual reference parts are to be removed, SuCri4DetachXref is the appropriate command.

    Troubleshooting

    • Wrong drawing: The command only runs in a 3D model drawing. If an ortho drawing is active, SuCri reports this and aborts. Open the 3D model and start the command again.
    • No prompt about the orthocube: No cube existed yet for the assembly. It is created during the next derivation or with SuCri4ShowOrthoCube.
