Prerequisites

  • An open AutoCAD Plant 3D project.
  • Installed and licensed TurboTools.

Step-by-step guide

  1. Actively select the pipe class: In the Plant 3D user interface, select the desired pipe class that contains the required components.
  2. Check the pipe class: Make sure that the active pipe class actually contains the relevant elements (e.g. supports or valves). Extend the pipe class via the Spec Editor if necessary.
  3. Run TurboTools again: Restart the TurboTools only after the successful selection of the pipe class.

Expected result: The matching components from the active pipe class are now displayed in the tool selection of the TurboTools and can be placed in the model.

Important notes

  • TurboTools check the active pipe class stored in the project in order to filter the available components.
  • In projects with many pipe classes, use a clear naming convention to rule out mix-ups.
  • If the tool selection remains empty, this is almost always an indication of a missing or incomplete pipe class.

Troubleshooting

If no components appear despite an active pipe class:

  • Check whether the components in the pipe class are available for the current nominal size (Size).
  • Make sure the pipe class is correctly linked in the Project Manager and is not write-protected or damaged.
