4.1.6. Swapping support heights and support types
On this page
It frequently happens that conditions change during the planning process and, as a planner, you have to react to this. In this article you will learn how to swap already placed primary supports through a simple index change, without having to carry out a time-consuming re-placement.
Step-by-step guide
- Select the desired support in your model that you want to edit.
- Open the window for the properties of the component.
- Within the properties, switch to the menu of the component parameters.
- Look for the field SupportHeight (for the support height) or SupportType (for the support type).
- Adjust the corresponding value according to the specifications on your IndexSheet.
Expected result: By changing the SupportHeight or SupportType property, the support automatically adapts in the model. All associated designations and technical properties are updated consistently by the system.
Important notes
- Adhere to specifications: For the swap, use exclusively the predefined values from your project-specific IndexSheet in order to ensure data integrity.
- Collision check: After the swap, briefly check the alignment and dimension of the support in the model to make sure the new geometry does not cause any collisions with other trades.
- Automation: Use this method primarily for index changes, as it is significantly more efficient than deleting and manually re-placing support components.
