Dynamic Clamping Systems
The Dynamic Clamping Systems function allows you to precisely adjust and move clamping systems. This enables the position, clamping range, and index of a clamping system to be flexibly aligned with the geometry of the holder.
Prerequisites
- The holder used must be configured for the use of clamping systems.
- A current index sheet for the clamp specifications must be available.
Step-by-Step Instructions
- Select holder: Select the holder or component to which you want to assign a clamping system.
- Open properties: Open the properties of the holder via the context menu or the property editor.
- Assign clamping system: Enter the desired clamp index in the parameter field CLAMP or Klemme according to the specification or the index sheet.
- Adjust clamping range: Arrows now appear in the model. Use the outer arrow to set the clamping range. Drag the arrow manually to adjust the range.
- Positioning the clamping system: With the middle arrow, you can move the entire clamp along the axis if a displacement of the position is required.
- Complete adjustment: Once the clamp is correctly aligned with the geometry, the process is finished.
Expected result: The clamping system is geometrically correctly positioned on the component and corresponds to the technical specifications.
Important Notes
- Check specification: Ensure that the index sheet used is up to date and exactly matches the clamp specification.
- Collision check: After each adjustment, visually check whether the clamp is seated correctly and does not cause collisions with other components.
- Readjustment: In the case of major changes to the model geometry, a subsequent readjustment of the clamping system may be necessary.
- Documentation: Document special cases or intentional deviations from the standard.
Troubleshooting
- The clamp cannot be moved:
- Check whether the selected component technically supports dynamic clamping systems.
- Ensure that the CLAMP parameter is present in the editor and is not write-protected.
- Check whether existing geometries or locked layers are restricting movement.
- Deactivating the function: Deactivation is generally not necessary as the function serves quality assurance. Should a shutdown be mandatory for the project, this must be noted in the project documentation.
