Display of excess components on the drawing

In certain cases, significantly more components may be displayed on a generated drawing than originally intended in the model. This article helps you identify the cause of this behavior and configure the display correctly.

    Prerequisites

    • The affected drawing has already been generated in the system.
    • You have the permissions to edit the drawing's view settings.

    Step-by-step instructions

    1. Check visibility settings

Click on the View Settings tab in the menu and check the activated filters for components.

Expected result: Only the desired component categories should be selected.

    2. Update drawing references

Select the Update References function to ensure that no outdated geometry data is present in the cache.

Expected result: The drawing is recalculated and excess elements are removed.

    Important notes

    • Layer Management: Check whether additional components are located on hidden layers that are automatically shown during export.
    • Assembly Structure: Ensure that no unwanted instances have been duplicated within the assembly hierarchy.

    Troubleshooting

    • Symptom: Components continue to appear despite filtering.
    • Solution: Perform a complete Rebuild of the model and ensure that there are no ghost components in the bill of materials.
