    Overview

    The P-connection is the right choice when two profiles run parallel. In the connection dialog, the corresponding button is called Parallel.

    Note: The P-connection is only available in the Hilti extension.

    Where can I find the function?

    In the connection dialog (SuCri tab, Module 3 group, Connections button, or the SuCri3ShowSelectConnection command) via the Parallel button (P). If Module 3 is pinned to the tool palette, the Parallel button in the Connections group starts the same selection directly, command SuCri3ConnectParallel.

    Step by step

    1. Start the connection dialog via the SuCri tab, Module 3 group, Connections button, or with SuCri3ShowSelectConnection.
    2. Click the Parallel button. The dialog is hidden during the selection.
    3. At the prompt Select Beam to Connect to (main Beam), select the main profile.
    4. At the prompt Select Beam to Connect, select the second profile.
    5. The dialog shows the list of connectors that match these profiles. Click an entry. The connection, including the bolts, is created in the model immediately.
    6. Close the dialog with Close, or return to the selection of the connection type with Back.

    How it works in detail

    After both profiles have been selected, SuCri places the matching connector for parallel profiles. All bolts and individual parts then appear in the Data Manager and can be output in any bill of materials.

    Tips and best practices

    • Main profile first: Even with parallel profiles, SuCri first prompts for the main profile and then for the parallel profile.

    Troubleshooting

    • No connector offered: Check whether the profiles are parallel within the tolerance and have the distance required by the connector. Notes are shown in the command line.
