Problem description

When using TurboTools for the placement of pipe supports, it can happen that no suitable support is proposed or displayed.

Cause

This behavior occurs when the distance to the steel structure is too small, or the outer diameter of the pipe does not fit into the range.

  • In such cases, no suitable supports (e.g. pipe clamps) can be selected automatically.
  • TurboTools searches the catalog for possible combinations but does not find any components that fit sensibly into the existing geometry.

Solution

  • Check geometry

Measure the distance between the pipe and the steel structure.

Make sure there is enough space for the planned fastening.

  • Adjust pipe

If possible, change the position or height of the pipe so that fastening systems have space.

  • Choose alternative fastening

If no standard clamping system fits, select or place another type of fastening manually (e.g. via secondary steel).

  • Check catalog

Make sure that the suitable fastening elements are present and activated in the catalog used.

  • Check steel construction catalog

Make sure that the profile you want to connect to is also present in the steel construction catalog.

Recommendation

  • In tight installation situations, check in advance whether a fastening system can technically be placed at all.
  • For special cases: place fastenings manually or add them through individual adjustments in the catalog.
