    Overview

Define drawing areas is the one-time preparation that Module 4 needs: SuCri must know where in the drawing template which view should end up. There is nothing more to adjust on the ortho DWT.

Far more options are available here than in the standard, including a layout plan with a top view and coordinates, from which you can read where in the plant you are located.

Where do I find the function?

In the Module 4 window under Options, there Define drawing area. Alternatively via the command line with SuCri4PlantOrthoDrawArea.

    How it works in detail

You open the ortho DWT via the project configuration and define the viewports. In addition to the front and side view, further views can be added, such as a southwest view or the layout plan. After that, the template is ready for use, and SuCri places the views including dimensioning and labeling by itself.

Important special feature: The bill of materials is attached to the front view. If the front view is not needed, it should still be created and simply placed outside the printable area, otherwise the bill of materials does not work.

    Tips and best practices

    • Never omit the front view: Without it, the bill of materials is missing. Parking it outside the print area is the right way.
    • Park optional views: The same procedure is suitable for views that are only needed sometimes.
    • One-time work: After that, the template applies to every derivation.
