    Overview

Module 4 draws center lines on the steel profiles in the orthographic views, just as Plant 3D™ does for piping. With Show Centerlines you switch these center lines off and on again with one click in all views of the active ortho drawing, without having to work in the layer manager yourself.

Where can I find the function?

In the Module 4 window under Options, Show Centerlines button. Command line: SuCri4HideAllCenterLine.

SuCri function Show Centerlines in the SuCri tab, Module 4, Options

If the Module 4 window is pinned to the tool palette, the function is located on the Module 4 tab of the SuCri tool palette in the Update & Scale group, Centerlines button.

    Video: Hiding center lines

    How it works in detail

The function works as a toggle. SuCri goes through all views of the active ortho drawing and toggles the associated center line layer for each view: on becomes off and vice versa. The drawing is then regenerated. Calling the same command again shows the center lines again.

Whether profile center lines are drawn at all when views are created or scaled is controlled by the setting Show profile centerlines (ShowProfileCenterline).

    Application examples

    Example 1: Drawing for fabrication

The view should be tidy for handover. You hide the center lines, print or export, and then switch them on again.

Example 2: Making dense designs legible

With closely spaced profiles, the center lines obscure more than they help. When they are hidden, the geometry is easier to assess.

    Tips and best practices

    • The same command switches back: There is no separate command for showing them; it is always the same toggle.
    • Mixed state: If you have switched individual center line layers by hand, the command reverses the state per view. Afterwards the views are mixed again. In this case, switch the layers uniformly once.
    • Permanently without center lines: The Show profile centerlines setting is intended for this, not the toggle.

    Troubleshooting

    • Wrong drawing: The command only runs in a layout of an ortho drawing. In a 3D model drawing or on the "Model" tab, SuCri reports this and aborts. Switch to the layout of the ortho drawing and start the command again.
    • Nothing happens: No profile center lines were created in the drawing, for example because the ShowProfileCenterline setting is switched off.
