4.2.19. Detach all Xrefs (SuCri2DetachAllXref)
On this page
Overview
Detach all Xrefs removes all links to objects in external references from an assembly (SU number). You only select one component of the assembly, and SuCri finds the others itself. The SU number and the components of the current drawing are retained.
Where can I find the function?
On the SuCri tool palette, Module 2 tab, in the collapsible Xrefs section as Detach All Xrefs. The tool palette is available when you pin the dashboard with Pin to tool palette.
Alternatively, enter SuCri2DetachAllXref in the command line.

Video: Detach all Xrefs in practice
How it works in detail
The command line prompts Select Support:. Click a component of the assembly. SuCri then selects all components of the drawing with the same assembly identifier, as with the Select command.
On all these components, SuCri removes the stored link to reference objects. The selection is then cleared. If Module 4 is installed and an orthocube already exists for the assembly, SuCri asks in the Recreate Ortho Cube dialog whether it should be recreated. With Yes the old orthocube is deleted and recreated to match the new scope; with No (default) it remains unchanged.
If the clicked component does not carry any assembly data, SuCri reports Support does not have XData attached.
Application examples
Example 1: Relinking an assembly
The link of an assembly points to outdated reference objects. Detach all links and then create the correct ones again with Attaching with reference.
Example 2: Reference is no longer supplied
A reference drawing is dropped from the project. Detach all links for the affected assemblies so that no references to missing objects remain.
Tips and best practices
- All or targeted: If only a single reference object is to be removed, use Detach Xref.
- Recreate orthocube: If the scope of the assembly changes, answer the orthocube prompt with Yes so that the envelope geometry fits again.
- Nothing is lost: Only the link is detached; geometry and SU number remain.
Troubleshooting
- Support does not have XData attached. The clicked component does not belong to any assembly. Select a component that was grouped with Attach or Attaching with reference.
- Nothing happens: The selection was cancelled or no components of the assembly were found.
