Missing images in the tool palette for SuCri components

In this article you will learn how to fix missing symbols or preview images in the AutoCAD Plant 3D tool palette. This concerns in particular the use of CustomScripts such as SuCri, where the assignment between scripts and images has to be updated manually.

Prerequisites

  • The required scripts and image files must be present in the correct content directory.

Step-by-step guide

  1. Identify the problem

    Check whether only placeholders instead of the correct component symbols are displayed in the tool palette.

    Result: The symbols are not displayed correctly.

  2. Run the registration command

    In the command line of Plant 3D, enter the command PLANTREGISTERCUSTOMSCRIPTS and confirm with Enter.

    Result: This command compiles the scripts in the CustomScripts folder and establishes the assignment to the symbol images.

  3. Restart the software

    Close Plant 3D and restart the application.

    Result: After the restart, the symbols are displayed correctly in the tool palette.

Important notes

  • Updates: Run the command preventively after every reinstallation or update of SuCri.
  • Duration: Depending on the number of existing scripts, the execution of the command can take a few seconds or longer.
  • Best practice: In case of missing symbols, always check first whether the file path of the scripts is correctly stored in the system.

Troubleshooting

  • Symbols are still missing: Check whether the corresponding PNG image files are actually located in the CustomScripts folder.
  • Scripts are not found: Make sure that you have the necessary write permissions in the content directory.
  • Persistent errors: If the registration fails, it is advisable to copy the scripts and images into the directory again or to carry out a clean reinstallation of the components.
